The vision of Blue Sky University is to be recognized internationally as a great research and teaching university and a leader both areas. We are dedicated to the discovery, development, communication, and application of knowledge in a wide range of academic and professional fields. We are committed to the positive impact we can have on the lives of our students, staff and alumni. Our mission of providing the highest quality undergraduate, graduate and post graduate education programs, internationally, is inseparable from our mission of developing new understandings through research and creativity. It prepares students to assume roles in leadership, responsibility, and service to society. Blue Sky University assumes as its historic trust the maintenance of freedom of inquiry and an intellectual environment nurturing the human mind and spirit. It welcomes and seeks to serve persons of all racial, ethnic, and geographic groups, women and men alike, as it addresses the needs of an increasingly diverse population and a global economy. In the twenty-first century, Blue Sky University strives to assume a place of preeminence among international universities while respecting the history and traditions of the region.

To realize our aspirations and growth targets, the University needs people, services and resources that can support a significant increase in research and teaching activities. The mission of the Division of Services & Resources is to deliver these to the University. The Division’s strategic programs cut across its portfolio areas and span all areas of the University. It provides enabling services and the resource capability to support the University’s teaching and research goals and activities. The Division’s strategic priorities are reflected in its nine strategic programs outlined below. These strategies address the priorities identified in the University Strategic Plan and span work across the Division’s branches.

 

Strategic Programs

 

Great People

The Great People program aims to attract, develop and support outstanding staff for the University through workforce development strategies that meet its future requirements. Led by the Human Resources branch, this program includes projects to deliver Recruitment Excellence and Performance Excellence for the University.

Healthy University

The Healthy University program aims to boost the health and wellbeing of the University community through best practice in Health, Safety and Well Being approaches and proactive enhancement activities.

Life Impact Brand

The Life Impact Brand program coordinates the development of the marketing strategy used to promote the University, attract outstanding students and staff, and build engagement with the broader community.

Prudent Management

The Prudent Management program avoids unintended consequences and risks for the University by guiding legislative compliance and educating local areas and individuals about their respective obligations.

Building Life Impact

The Building Life Impact program is a significant investment in the continuous improvement of the University’s facilities and infrastructure, and coordinates the most ambitious building initiative in its history.

Digital Future

The Digital Future program will provide the University with the optimum capability to anticipate and adapt to developments in digital technology, to scale and strategically align its IT architecture, and to streamline its IT governance processes.

Great Research Libraries

The Great Research Libraries program will deliver the academic resource materials and services needed to meet the changing requirements of a research-intensive University.

Sustainable BSU

The Sustainable BSU program will reduce the University’s environmental footprint and risk through the adoption of sustainable practices University-wide and the transformation of business processes.

Portfolio Areas

 

The Division of Services and Resources is structured around seven Branches.

Financial Services

Financial Services manages financial transactions and reporting for the University, oversees budget development, and provides taxation and accounting advice and services. Financial Services also manages relationships with suppliers and provides travel and fleet management services.

Human Resources

Human Resources provides recruitment, superannuation and promotions support and advice to the University community and manages payroll, staff records, and workforce planning. Human Resources also encompass the Health, Safety and Wellbeing unit, with responsibility for their programs and training.

Infrastructure, Property & Technology

Infrastructure, Property & Technology manages the University’s property portfolio and supports its built environment through planning, project management and maintenance services. Infrastructure, Property & Technology also delivers the University’s core technology and communication services.

Legal & Risk

Legal & Risk assists University personnel to manage their legal, compliance, risk and insurance responsibilities and to empower those individuals to confidently pursue the University’s objectives. The team provides independent, objective and timely advice on legal matters including copyright and freedom of information and assists with the drafting of agreements, policy review, dispute resolution and fraud control. Legal & Risk also administers the University’s insurance program and advises on general and travel insurance matters.

Marketing & Strategic Communications

Marketing & Strategic Communications is responsible for the development and creative design of University corporate marketing campaigns and the Life Impact Brand strategy. They provide consultancy services to University areas, manage the University’s website and top-level pages, and coordinate the University’s media releases.

Office of the Vice-President (Services & Resources)

The Office of the Vice-President (Services & Resources) coordinates Division-wide strategic and business planning activities; facilitates access to decision-making and provides support for Division-wide projects and activities.

University Libraries

The University Libraries provide access to scholarly resources in a variety of formats, maintain collaborative learning spaces and 24×7 computer suites, and deliver training in information literacy. The University Libraries also encompass the Digital Resource Management Centre, the Image and Copy Centre, and University Archives, Records & Collections which has responsibility for the University’s records management.
