MBA in Financial Management
The Master of Business Administration with a Major in Financial Management is a joint program offered by the Institute of Finance and Economics in Ulaanbaatar and Blue Sky University. The Institute of Finance and Economics was founded in 1924 and now one of the largest academic organizations in Mongolia. It has received accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) in recognition of the excellence of their academic programs. Based in the U.S., The Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs is a premier international accreditation body for business programs as recognized by the U.S. Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
The Master of Business Administration with a Major in Financial Management is designed for individuals who aspire to the role of Controller, Treasurer or Chief Financial Officer in for-profit private sector organizations; public sector organizations, or financial institutions. The MBA in Financial Management delivers the skills and knowledge necessary to be a successful financial management professional at all levels of an organization. It is a very specialized degree program taught by a team of leading experts, who have extensive industry knowledge and business experience. Senior financial practitioners from top international firms advised on the unique course content which combines strategic and analytical finance with a solid grounding in management principles.

About the Program
The program requires the completion of 15 courses (44 credits), a Capstone Research Project (9 credits) and a two week study tour in the U.S. at one of the many Blue Sky University’s international study centers.
The program requirements include 6 fundamental courses (Business English, Financial Management, Econometrics, Managerial Information Systems, Research Methodology, and Strategic Management); 7 core courses (Corporate Governance, Development Seminar, Financial Report and Decision Making, Cost Management and Performance Evaluation, Financial Analysis and Models, Risk and Insurance, and Investment Management); 2 concentration courses (Investment Analysis – Portfolio and Derivatives Management; and Commercial Bank Management – Financial Institution Risk Management); an integrative Capstone Research Project (Thesis Workshop and Master’s Thesis); plus a two week U.S. study tour.
